From June 27–29, the Africa Centre hosted its 16th Annual All Africa Soccer Tournament and Festival at M.E. LaZerte School in Edmonton. The event brought together over 500 attendees and more than 20 teams, celebrating community spirit and the love of the game.
In the Men’s Division, Team Kenya claimed the gold medal, with Team Sudan taking silver and Team Eritrea securing bronze. Kenya also dominated the Masters Division, finishing first, followed by Team Ghana in second place and Team Zimbabwe in third. In the Women’s Division, BTB Academy showcased their strength by winning both first and second place.
Kenya’s captain, Jacob Kwizera, summed up the triumph by saying, “It was great… we came with a mission to win it… this year we made it Kenya Kenya Kenya…”
With cheers of “kujisikia vizuri” — “feeling good” — the tournament concluded on a high note, celebrating African talent, unity, and community pride in Edmonton.
Du 27 au 29 juin, l’Africa Centre a organisé son 16ᵉ Tournoi et Festival annuel de soccer All Africa à l’école M.E. LaZerte à Edmonton. L’événement a rassemblé plus de 500 participants et plus de 20 équipes, célébrant l’esprit communautaire et l’amour du sport.
Dans la catégorie masculine, l’équipe du Kenya a remporté la médaille d’or, suivie du Soudan qui a décroché l’argent et de l’Érythrée qui a obtenu le bronze. Le Kenya a également dominé la catégorie Masters, terminant premier, suivi du Ghana à la deuxième place et du Zimbabwe à la troisième. Dans la catégorie féminine, BTB Academy a démontré sa force en remportant à la fois la première et la deuxième place.
Le capitaine du Kenya, Jacob Kwizera, a résumé ce triomphe en déclarant : « C’était génial… nous sommes venus avec pour mission de gagner… cette année c’était Kenya Kenya Kenya… »
Sous les acclamations de « kujisikia vizuri » — « se sentir bien » — le tournoi s’est conclu sur une note positive, célébrant le talent africain, l’unité et la fierté communautaire à Edmonton.
