It was an event filled with Indigenous cultural riches and inspiring by wisdom from the elders.
It took years for Janice Randhile to finally put this exciting event together, after long periods of thoughts and planning, on November 18, at the Edmonton City Hall, 21 indigenous men were celebrated in an event called “Okimaw”, a Cree word for leader.
Lloyd Cardinal, one of the award recipients thanked those who criticized him, that positively or negatively he learns from them.
