It is one of the most conspicuous architectural pieces in the heart of Edmonton, a home for arts, story telling, history, culture, and a mosaic of architecture, and arts. Alberta Art Gallery is a place to book a $12 tour or if you so choose, get a free tour on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
Yesterday May 2, 2018, I joined the City of Edmonton’s Culture Club on a tour of Alberta Art Gallery. Culture Club is one of 13 potential solutions from community engagement and research. It was a first test at the Art Gallery that started at RECOVER, Edmonton’ s Urban Wellness Plan, which is about working to improve wellness by testing ideas for strengthening communities through social innovation.
Culture Club provides an opportunity to experience some of Edmonton’s fantastic arts and culture events. Every Tuesday and Wednesday, the Alberta Art Gallery is free for a tour. I had the chance to be honoured with a guided tour by a passionate curator.
It was nice to hear the stories, passions, vision of the artists. It presented a different angle of the Alberta Art Gallery. A tour worth recommending, stories itchy to be shared, and vision memorable to share some exciting perspectives of Edmonton by artist such as William Townsend in 1930.
