It was all shine last weekend, June 23 and 24, 2018. The new location was the beautiful Borden Park in Edmonton and the event was the colourful Filipino Fiesta 2018.

It was the third anniversary of the Filipino Fiesta, a colourful festival matching the colourful rainbow hanging over head. With two bright sunny days, the festival organizers could not have asked for a better weather condition after the first two editions of the festival were blurred by rain.

With lots of free parking space and lots of space in the beautiful Borden Park to chill, thousands of people of Philippine descent in Edmonton poured in to have a taste of Filipino culture longways from home.  The organizers did not disappoint putting together an amazing collection of “Pekiti Tirsia Kali” (Filipino Martial Arts) demonstration, Zumba and many amazing performances in the Fiesta Stage presented by Philippine Arts Council. Sound and music supplied by DjKarl Oclares, a Family Zone with the kids presented by Upaa Edmonton and the 10 dedicated Pinoy food vendors bringing delicious cultural dishes to Edmontonians.

Fiesta organizers may have just found a future home for the colourful Filipino annual Fiesta in Edmonton.
