On a visit to try the food ourselves, our Diversity Team was greeted by a smiley Angel, who made us feel at home. She gave us a seat and we joined the line to the all you can eat buffet. I enjoyed the different combinations of tender tasty goat, lamb, and beef, married with fried and white rice. “…I really liked their Naan Bread,” my assistant shared. Thierno said the rice is spicy. It’s Jollof Rice that he is used to eating in Senegal. Becky came all the way from Calgary to try the food and likes the Curry Fish…the flavour, the colour..
When Chef Souleymane Diallo and Chef Ahamd Mohammed decided that it was time to put their years of experience working for restaurants in Edmonton into their own project, Mumbai Darkar Restaurant was born. As the name indicates, Souleymane is originally from Dakar, Senegal, and Ahamd hailed from Mumbai, India. The chefs are supported in a busy kitchen by Chef Astou originally from Senegal, and Restaurant Manager, the nice and friendly Angel Liu of Chinese descent. Supported on the floor is the nice Sandeep from Indian.
While Mumbai Dakar is opened and already serving an all you can eat buffet for lunch and dinner at just $13.99 and $16.99 respectively, the official launch is scheduled for June 13, 2019, where the same all you can eat buffet will only cost you $7.99.
To order one of their delicious Indian and African dishes for delivery, you can call 780-474-0833 or drop in at 4322 118 Avenue, Edmonton.
Bon Appetit!
