About 400 people joined the End the Alberta Lock Down rally at the Alberta Legislature in Edmonton on April 29, 2020 amidst the social distancing measures imposed by the Alberta Government limiting gatherings to not more than 15 people. The rally was supported by a vehicle parade which made rounds from the Federal Building to the Alberta Legislature grounds.

The grand entrance of the man with the blue Trump flag drew a great applause from the 400 size crowd in front of Alberta Legislature at the End the Lockdown Alberta event on April 29,2020, inspiring chants of, “Trump” “Trump” “Trump” “Trump” “Trump”.

Paradoxically, after the rally, in another location, Alberta Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Deena Hinshaw updated the highest ever number of cases of COVID-19 in Alberta. Alberta’s COVID-19 status for April 29, 2020, after 5,025 tests for COVID-19, Alberta confirmed 315 new cases, bringing total cases to 5,165. Sadly 7 more deaths, brings total to 87.

The message from the protesters was to end the lock down, re-open the Albertan economy and get back to work. However, Alberta’s Premier, Jason Kenney announced on Tuesday in a press conference that he will lay plans to re-open the economy by the end of this week.

The protesters had hash words for the media, the police, and the Canadian Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, with one loud voice, “Lockup Trudeau”.
