According to Statistics Canada, the jobless rate in Alberta is 15.5% compared to 13.7% nationally.
Did you get that magic call?
What’s next?
With the economy re-opening, you are certainly preparing to go back to work, those who are lucky to be called back, or figuring how to survive for those not so lucky to get that magic call.
Risk-taking entrepreneurs who create jobs, and pay taxes to support governments and social services too have to re-open their businesses. That means thinking about staff levels, reaching your customers again, and let everyone know you are back.
In another post I went through the different grants and loans offered by different levels of government. Today, I want to touch on how you’re keeping the connection with customers to let them know that you are back in business, changes to adjust to COVID-19 restrictions to protect customers and staff, and most importantly, taking advantage of the COVID-19 restrictions to build online marketing and selling systems such that if no one comes through the door, products will keep flying off the delivery doors. What of festivals?
Well, most festivals are postponing to next year due to the limit in the number of people for outdoor events. We organize the Africanival festival which brings thousands of people together to celebrate the colourful Afro-Caribbean cultures. We’re still going on, putting together a virtual version on August 8, 2020.
This is an excellent opportunity for businesses, especially those who do not target minority communities, the fastest growing half of Alberta’s population to take the opportunity it presents to list their products and services on the festival’s platforms in front of thousands of potential customers and for products to be delivered on August 8 during the festival.
My question of the day is, in a Coronavirus worrying environment, what marketing opportunities are you taking to reach new customers and boost sales?
