Imagine being locked in a cage with a snake. This simulates what an Alberta MLA faced in the hands of two power drunk cops in Lethbridge.
This is a another incentive to make the Alberta Police Act the best in the world, where bad cops can be taken off the streets without impunity?
If the Alberta Police Act can not adequately protect an elected leader, then who can it?
This seems to be an example of the limitations of the good cops to take out the bad. When MLA Shannon Phillips, MLA for Lethbridge-West, left that dinner on April 2017 in downtown Lethbridge, the last thing on her mind was that the two Lethbridge Police Officers who were at the dinner and did not like her idea of changing a park will be following her or other participants of the dinner to catch them in a traffic mistake, or run their number plates, take photos, and share on social media.Once bitten twice shy!
Who’s next?
The two officers pleaded guilty and have been demoted but they are still very much on the streets of Lethbridge with the possibility of another attack on anyone with differing political opinions or people that for some reasons they just don’t like.
The obvious question of the day is, is it another incentive to make Alberta Police Act effective, such that bad cops could be dealt with?
