The Trudeau Liberals are still more popular in Canada if an election is called today, new poll says. Photo from the PM’s Facebook meeting with workers at ABC Technologies in Brampton.
The new Conservative Party Leader of the Official Opposition, Erin O’Toole, just finished his first press conference, talking of national unity and reaching out to minorities to broaden his support base.
There was no word on policy yet, just introducing himself to Canadians. How he will tackle the twin issues of racism and chronic unemployment and under-employment of minorities will interest minority communities.
The deep blue Kenney-styled Conservative Leader said the matter is closed, there will be no action on MP Derek Sloan who said the Canadian Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Tam works for China and not Canada. Was that due to her Chinese heritage? Who knows?
Mr O’Toole also insisted that he’s ready if an election is called this Fall.
However, in a recent poll conducted by Leger and the Association for Canadian Studies, 42% of Canadians are opposed to an election, while 38% are in favour.
In case of an election today, 38% of decided voters will vote for PM Trudeau’s Liberals, compared to 30% for the Conservatives, 18% for the NDP and 6% for the Greens.
