For those who want to explore the beautiful Edmonton Capital Region, join us on our Diversity Tour of the Edmonton Capital Region.

A stop at Leduc, formerly known as Boggy Plain or Telford Place, the “Town by the Lake”. That lake is Telford Lake named after Leduc’s first Mayor.

Leduc is a fast growing city, let me call it the city of 33 as it’s about 33km from Edmonton, and about 33,000 inhabitants as per the 2019 census.

Leduc was re-named in 1891 after Father Hippolyte Leduc, a Roman Catholic missionary priest who served the area.

Our first step is at Telford Lake, about 3km long lake, nicely built with wooden support to take you deep into the lake so as to get a good view of the lake, the surrounding park, nice buildings, and beautiful surroundings.

The American White Pelican, the Wood Frog, and fish species constitute a rich biodiversity in Lake Telford.

Our next stop to discover Leduc took us to the City Hall, called Civic Centre. A beautiful piece of architecture with the library next door, a pond separates the Civic Centre from the captivating Alexandra Park, at the back of the centre with an active community of quacking ducks.
