Realize Your Potential (RYP)Youth Society celebrated their annual Black Heritage Family Day Celebration by celebrating nine Black Community Leaders across Alberta on February 18, at the Thorncliffe Community Centre in Calgary.
RYP’s annual Black Heritage Family Day Celebration honored the impact of Nine Black Alberta residents shaping community today and every day.
The sold out event also had a busy market, inspiring speeches, dance performances, and hundreds of community members who came out to support this Black History Month celebration.
During the award phase of the event, young people read the bios of the award recipients before they were presented with the awards, a real time empowerment in accordance with the goal of RYP Youth Society.
