A 40 years old Edmonton man, Andrew Donald, has been arrested and charged for impersonating a police officer – Edmonton Police say.

It was reported to police that on Thursday, May 27, 2021, at approximately 10:30 p.m., a female motorist was forced to pull over her vehicle on the Yellowhead Trail near 127 Street, by another motorist who had pulled up beside her and deliberately driven into her lane while presenting what appeared to be a police badge.

It is then alleged that a male driver of the suspect vehicle walked up to the female complainant’s vehicle, produced a badge and stated he was a police officer. The suspect reportedly yelled at the complainant and threatened to give her a ticket for driving too slowly. Skeptical of the suspect’s claims of being a police officer, the female complainant obtained a license plate number of the suspect vehicle and contacted EPS.

Investigators later confirmed the identity of the accused as being Andrew James Stuart Donald, 40, of Edmonton. Anyone who has had a similar experience with the accused is encouraged to contact the EPS at 780-423-4567 or #377 from a mobile phone. Anonymous information can also be submitted to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.p3tips.com/250.
