A great loss for Edmonton in the Iranian plane strike catastrophe last week. An even giant loss for the Iranian community in Edmonton.

Academics, professionals, mothers, fathers, children, community members, boyfriend, girlfriend, wonderful 13 members of our fantastic Edmonton community gone too soon.

Over 4K Edmontonians came out amidst the coldest days of the year, and thousands more followed on a webcast. Dozens of extremely moving tributes from friends, colleagues, and family.

Prime Minister Trudeau promised to get answers. Justice too was promised by a bearded version on the PM, a view re-echoed to the attendees by the signs of the line of peaceful protesters at the door as they made their way out. Premier Kenney shared sympathies, and Mayor Iverson drew some Persian words to the applause of the over 4K people present at the Saville Sports Centre in Edmonton on a cold Sunday, January 12, 2020.

Our fantastic Edmonton will forever be different from this loss.
