It’s another fantastic Africanival show of African and Caribbean culture in Edmonton, drawing involvement from cities across Alberta such as Red Deer, Calgary, Lloydminster and Brooks. Africanival elegance drew this comment from festival Grand Master, Jim Gibbon of Edmonton Heritage Festival, “It was so well laid out. I like the flags there (on the stage)…”.
Africanival had 30 performances on the stage, a visual arts display for the first time, variety of African and Carribean Food Vendors. Unfortunately the film tent was not ready. Our sincere apology to those who came asking.
We thank all our patrons, volunteers, sponsors, the organizing team, and the community sincerely for the support.
Africanival drew about 15,000 people in two days, an increase of 5,000 from 2017.
Thank you all sincerely and see you all for an even better version of Africanival in 2019.
