Africanival 2022 has come and gone but the memories will last with us forever due to the pride in celebrating our rich, colourful, and diverse cultural heritage, and that unique sense of identity with pride and dignity in a way that nobody will do for us.

Thousands of you came out to celebrate your cultural heritage with over 30 performances from across Alberta and Saskatchewan, over 50 local community businesses, over 100 volunteers, and over 40 children learning about their heritage, as well as, building talents and the skills of the future in painting and writing.
Congratulations!

We received a recognition from Edmonton City Council through Mayor Sohi for our contribution to diversity, inclusion, culture, arts, and business in Edmonton.

Guess what?
This was done almost entirely funded by you and your community contributions, Black organizations in Edmonton led by the Africa Centre, with 5% of Africanival funding from Edmonton Arts Council, Edmonton Community Foundation, and Downtown Business Association and zero (0) direct government funding. Oh! Yes, you heard it correct, not from any level of government.

If you like what you saw, and want your heritage celebrated with such pride and dignity like never been seen before in our fantastic city, or want to take advantage of Africanival platforms to showcase your talents or business, then get ready for an even better show, same time on July 15 and 16, 2023.
Most people who gave us their feedback want to see us stay at Louise McKinney Riverfront Park, and also want more community engagement and involvement, as well as, a big name artists to mentor and help get our long list of local artists to the next level. With your loyal support, we’ll do just that, come 2023.
It was a cultural blast as we promised.

Thank you for your support as always.

See you again on July 15 and 16, 2023.
