On March 11, the Alliance Jeunesse Famille De l’Alberta Society (AJFAS) celebrated talented Black women who have made a difference in the community in different areas.

Dr. Alice Prophète won the Viola Desmond prize and was the keynote speaker. Alice and over a dozen other women were celebrated for their work at the Grand Salon hall of the University of Alberta, Saint Jean Campus, and also profiled in AJFAS magazine called Elle AU Féminin which is produced yearly, and also embedded in Diversity Magazine Women’s Edition that is distributed across Alberta and beyond.
