Assalamualaikum! from Muslim Heritage festivals across Alberta.
The Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) Edmonton organized Muslim Heritage day festival on August 20th, 2022, at the Sir Winston Churchill Square Park in Edmonton.
It was a full day of family fun, food, clothing, and a chance to experience diverse Islamic culture.
ICNA Calgary also organized Muslim Heritage Day Festival on August 20, 2022, at the Olympic Plaza in Calgary.
The Muslim Heritage Day Festival event in Calgary was focused on promoting a better understanding of Islamic culture, history, and civilization for the public and works on building bridges between the different communities.
The event in Calgary was spiced with kids’ activities such as face painting, jumping castle, and a drawing competition. Women and girls got free henna tattoos, so too was exciting calligraphy demonstrations, information exhibits, speeches, and brief discussions on Muslim diversity and heritage.
The month of October is Islamic Heritage Month in Canada, to provide an opportunity to learn and honour the rich history of Islam, and the contributions of Muslims in Canada.
