Supported by some masculine energy, a well attended BCW in Action’s Black History Month event on February 13, 2021, celebrating Black Businesses and families had a full list.
The event was animated by artistic performances, giving an opportunity to young poets in our community, most notably, the poem by the young Mikhola Thomas.
Some entrepreneurial flair of overcoming challenges and accomplishments was invoked by a rich panel consisting of an entrepreneur in arts, a community builder, one in the healthcare sector, marketing and PR.
The ever-present MLA David Shepherd defended his title once again, accompanied by other Alberta NDP Caucus members, MLA Christina Gray, MLA Janis Irwin, who is giving David some serious competition in supporting community events.
As always, there was a performance for everyone to show some Black History Month moves by the exciting African Aerobics before the funny Sterling Scott brought down the house.
Happy Black History Month the BCW in Action way!
