“…I came here not knowing what to expect but now, I feel empowered. I feel that I can do anything…as a black woman…” Strachey Grenville sums up the Black Canadian Women in Action Networking Mixer at MacEwan University in Edmonton.

This year, when black women count their blessings, Black Canadian Women in Action will certainly be added to their list of blessings for the great empowerment work that they do.

Diversity Magazine made it to the Black Canadian Women Networking event on November 1, 2019, at the Allard Hall of MacEwan University, where a full house of women came out to network.

Here are some take home lessons from the main speakers: Lindsey MacMaen opened, “Your network will determine your net worth”. Andrea Bailey-Brown jumped in, “You must have entrepreneurial mindset…you must surround yourself with the right people and show up at the right events”. “Time is your most valuable assets…,” Tai-Monique shared.

“…I know for me as a black woman, there is a gap in the resources that is available to me…The barrier we faced as black women is unique and BCW can help fill it…,” Kim-Ann Wilson, Marketing Director shares the mission and vision of Black Canadian Women in Action with Diversity Magazine, at the networking mixer at the Round House, Allard Hall, MacEwan University in Edmonton.
