Do you know of any anyone who came to Edmonton as a medical doctor but ends up driving taxi, or scrubbing poop in social care, or degraded to a pharmacist assistant?

Oh! Yes I know lots; David, Paul, Peter, Adam, Ahmed, John, Ola,…

When we asked why these guys could not practice medicine in Alberta or in Canada, we were told by one politicians after another, one government after another, that the Alberta College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta that regulates doctors in Alberta is independent organization and cannot be influenced.

Some said they were sad themselves to see this colossal waste of talents. This week, we saw the letter, attached, from Alberta Health Minister, Tyler Shandro, showed otherwise.

“…I am advising you that I will be recommending to the Lieutenant Governor in Council that the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta be directed to amend its…,” Minister Shandro wrote in the last two paragraphs of the attached letter instructing the “independent” college.

The question for you today is, can our politicians do more to get more foreign trained doctors to do the work that they came to Canada to do?
