The Centre For Newcomers on May 23 hosted from their Speaker Series ” Building Community Resilience in the Face of Radicalization.

The Speakers Lori Williams Associate Professor at Mount Royal University, Sgt. Paul Dunn with thee Calgary Police Services, and Jeny Mathews-Thusoo, Program Lead in Social Resilience for the City of Calgary. The presentation examines how to build Community Resilience in the face of radicalization. For those that become radicalized, not all engage in violence. Â Host from Centre For Newcomers, Ayotunde Kayode, Mgr. Community Relations and Mentorship has over the years introduced a number of Mentorship and Speakers series and the information is educational and more awareness depending on topic.

Radicalization comes in all forms and ideology beliefs and not always religious based.  As Mathews-Thusoo pointed out, Progress Happens at The Speed of Trust.
