He started as a musician, became a communication expert, flirted with some community organizing, reached out to volunteer for the NDP Election Team in 2015 but was invited to run himself, and eventually was pronounced MLA for Edmonton-Centre on May 5, 2015, in the Alberta General Election.

David Murray Shepherd or popularly known as David Shepherd is at it again campaigning. This time, a bearded version of David Shepherd is adding the letters “re” to the word election. After building a solid conspicuous presence in communities across Edmonton, from his ever presence at community events, championing community issues at the Alberta Legislation, David Shepherd is seeking re-election as the MLA for Edmonton-Centre.

He has propelled himself into every crack and corner of communities in Edmonton, hence earning him the title of the most financial MLA without a portfolio. While instrumental in recognizing Black History Month in Alberta, helped to add a flavour of multiculturalism to the outdated Alberta School Curriculum, helped to secure funds for the Winspear and an endless list of community projects,  with many many other involvements, David Shepherd is not done. He wants to continue with his empowerment mission for communities, foster diversity and inclusion, support capacity building, and help every Albertan participate in its economic, social, and political journey.

As pictured below, on March 8, 2019, David Shepherd opened his 2019 election office in the heart of Edmonton Centre, at #50, 10014 104 St. in an exciting event that drew hundreds of passionate supporters and admirers interested and uninterested in politics, drawing this memorable quote from Max Omar,

I don’t like politics but this guy is class act.. Edmonton Central Re-Elect David Shepherd for the upcoming provincial election.
