Premier Kenney will now fight on two fronts as a new Conservative party, a version of the Wildrose party is born in Alberta.
Once upon a time, in the Canadian province of Alberta, there was a cry in the wilderness, “unite the right” from a a man with a blue truck who had lost his ministerial power as a result of the party he was part of knocked off the seat of government in Ottawa.
This man, Jason Kenney, eventually united the conservative wing of the province by forming the United Conservative Party (UCP).
Fast forward to today, he is Premier of Alberta. He took out the ruling Alberta New Democratic Party (NDP) who have been fierce in opposition with their trademark social policies.
Last week, Wexit Alberta and the Freedom Conservative Party of Alberta voted to merge as Wildrose Independence Party of Alberta, giving Premier Kenney another front to fight on in a similar coalition that he built to become premier of Alberta.
The new party says the two major parties; UCP and NDP, do not serve Alberta’s interest well enough. What is your take on this?
