Historic, over 135 people have registered to speak today in Calgary. Edmonton had over 140.
A diverse committee will open the floor today at Calgary City Hall to set the stage for public hearing on systemic racism in Calgary.
Edmonton focused on freezing police budget increases with nothing on polices diversity and inclusion of its predominantly white management.
It seems Calgary is going a step forward as one of their six motions approved by Calgary City Council is a re-evaluation of its policies and procedures with an emphasis on diversity and inclusion.

The City of Calgary’s Public Consultation on Racism runs on July 7 and 8, 2020, from 9:30 AM.
As part of Calgary’s commitment to anti-racism, The City of Calgary is holding a public consultation on systemic racism through a meeting of the Standing Policy Committee on Community and Protective Services.
