Fadumo Robinson is originally from Somalia, arriving as a refugee in Canada in her late teens, laden with the responsibility of caring for her three younger siblings and navigating a new language, all without parental guidance.

Her career has taken her through roles as both a Social Worker and a Nurse, addressing critical areas such as immigrant and refugee settlement, family violence prevention, mental health, and hospital administration.

A deeply ingrained commitment to giving back drives Fadumo’s involvement in mentoring young women from diverse backgrounds in their career pursuits. Her academic journey mirrors this dedication, boasting Bachelor’s degrees in Criminology, Social Work, and Nursing, alongside a Master’s degree in Nursing Leadership. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Nursing, Fadumo’s quest for knowledge reflects her steadfast commitment to personal and professional growth.

During moments of respite, Fadumo finds solace in reading, meditation, and cherishing precious moments with her husband and two children. In her role as the Associate Chief Nursing Officer, she seamlessly integrates her wealth of experience, overseeing programs related to education, professional practice, collaborative care, and advanced nursing practice.

While her professional accolades, including awards like the Covenant Health Social Justice Mission Award and the Alberta Health Service President’s Excellent Awards, are noteworthy, Fadumo’s dedication to excellence extends beyond boardrooms. Her engagement in various community services, including sitting on non-profit boards, further underscores her commitment to making a positive impact beyond the realm of healthcare leadership. Sa carrière l’a amenĂ©e Ă occuper des postes de travailleur social et d’infirmière, abordant des domaines critiques tels que l’Ă©tablissement des immigrants et des rĂ©fugiĂ©s, la prĂ©vention de la violence familiale, la santĂ© mentale et l’administration hospitalière.

Un engagement profondĂ©ment enracinĂ© dans le don de soi motive la participation de Fadumo Ă la formation de jeunes femmes issues de milieux divers dans leur carrière. Son parcours acadĂ©mique reflète cet engagement, avec des diplĂ´mes de baccalaurĂ©at en criminologie, en travail social et en soins infirmiers, ainsi qu’une maĂ®trise en leadership en soins infirmiers.
