In Canada, murderers, rapists, and serial criminals get another chance, right? Is it fair to ask for another chance for the Francophone Newcomer Welcome Centre, in French, a community building organization being punished for the actions of its former employee and former Board? This is the question that community organizers are asking as they bring supporters of CAE together tonight to craft a new way forward for the organization.
Your Voice is the Most Powerful Tool known to Mankind, Use it
A question that gets a resounding yes CAE deserves another chance from everyone but with an exception. Unfortunately, CAE’s funders think otherwise as their funding from Alberta Government is being diverted to another organization, and their funding from Immigration Canada has just been put on for a public competition.
On this note, CAE supporters and sympathizers are taking their case to you because your voice is more powerful than any government or institution or organization, if you decide to use it in speaking out or in voting with two competitive elections stirring directly at you. A very exciting invitation sent out by organizers of the forum tonight invites everyone to weigh in.
CAE Newlook Project
The organizers warmly extends a special invitation to help put together a new beginning for CAE, a new vision, direction, recruitment of new credible, respected, and competent Board Members for CAE, dubbed CAE Newlook Project. The event will take place at Diversity Centre on 10510 107 Av. Open to anyone who supports the work of the centre and want to give it another chance, the forum will launch a new version for CAE going forward. This project will continue with asking supporters of the centre, to show support to its programs and services, as well as, give it a second chance by signing a support letter. The supporters will also be asked to sign a letter of support and encouraged to ask families, friends, neighbours, colleagues, and anyone they know to sign the letter of support.
30 Families, Brothers, Sisters, Children, Neighbours, Colleagues, and 2,000 Newcomers Need You
Supporters and sympathizers of CAE have creatively come up with these thoughts to share with you:
If you truly believe that everyone deserve another chance, then support CAE Newlook.
If you are touched by how the children of the 30 families with survive this winter while their parents suffer because of accusations of another person, then CAE needs your voice today.
If you believe that the treatment of CAE is different from that of other organizations, then answer the call.
If you believe that an organization with no trace of financial mismanagement deserves another chance after cleaning up its past, then pick your seat in the hall this evening.
Why Does CAE Matter and Why Should you Care?
CAE has grown from 45K to 2 Million Dollars Budget in 15 years and this growth has come with support from the community members like you, skills from the hard working team, and an effective strategy to welcome 2,000 newcomers every year and help them settle, integrate, and make Alberta home from two locations in Edmonton, one in Grand Prairie, and one in Fort McMurray. This, the organization has accomplished with no trace of financial mismanagement or wrongdoing until this anonymous letter surfaced as two women came forward with complaints of sexual harassment.
The main actors involved in the sexual harassment case are gone, and the Board is also gone. Through CAE Newlook Project, the expertise built over time, the community support accumulated, and the financial excellence to manage such a huge sum of money will be given an additional boost tonight with a new credible, competent and respected Board, changes in the bylaws, a revised vision and mission statements, a very strong policy on sexual harassment, and new reason for the 30 hardworking staff to get out of bed everyday and go out to welcome newcomers to Canada.
Answer the Call!!
The organizers summarized their call, “CAE is not DEAD and will NEVER DIE.
