It was two days of warm sunny weather, the perfect recipe for a well attended and well supported 5th Annual Edmonton Filipino Fiesta, which took place from June 18 to 19 at Borden Park in Edmonton.
After a two years break due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the Edmonton Filipino Fiesta was back and indeed better than ever!

The warm Filipino hospitality was exemplified at the Fiesta by a busy stage with over 200 total performers on the Fiesta Stage, a Fiesta Family and Heritage Zone for kids, a Fiesta Marketplace for a mix of businesses, and community serving nonprofits such as Migrante Alberta, with a petition to stop the deportation of Vangie and McKenna Rose.
Canadian citizen, 6 year old McKenna Rose will be deported to the Philippines on July 8, 2022, with her mom Evangeline (Vangie) Cayanan. Mckenna needs ongoing healthcare that she won’t be able to get if she is deported.
Migrante is calling on Ministers Marco Mendicino and Sean Fraser to stop their deportation, and grant them permanent resident status through their pending humanitarian and compassionate application.
