Eid Mubarak is a Muslim greeting reserved for use on the festivals of Eid al-Fitr. Eid means “celebration”, and Mubarak means “blessed”. Eid al-Fitr is celebrated after Ramadan. 

Eid al- Fitr is celebrated in Edmonton today Friday, June 15, 2018.

Here is what’s happening this EID weekend in the Al Rashid community …

1) EID PRAYER: will take place at the Edmonton Islamic Academy (14525 – 127 street) at 9:00 AM. The Al Rashid Mosque will not be hosting Eid Prayer, but will be open for regular Friday prayer service.

2) EID CARNIVAL: join us tomorrow from 6:00 – 9:00 PM, at the Edmonton Islamic Academy (in the back field) for our annual carnival, which will feature hayrides, food trucks, obstacle courses, dunk tanks, fireworks and much more!

3) EID BASH 2K18: This year the RYC is hosting it’s first ever Eid Bash for youth ages 14 and up! Taking place at the ARCA Banquet Facility, the bash will feature a performance by Poet and Rapper, Essam Muhammad and one final opportunity to listen to the inspirational Sheikh Daood Butt.
