Showcasing the beautiful Gambian culture as part of Alberta Culture Days is the Gambia Community Association of Edmonton celebrating Gambia Culture Day at the Queen Mary Park Community League Hall in Edmonton on September 30, 2019.
There were exciting cultural performances, delicious cultural food, women dancing with colourful cultural outfits, a boy beating a drum, girls too answered the call, uplifting dance moves, and an opportunity for community members to connect. The Gambian community was happy with the event and put out this thank you message at the end.
“Thank you to everyone that joined us for our Gambian Culture Day event this evening! We were so happy to see so many new faces. A special thank you to Edmonton-Centre MLA, David Shepherd, for taking the time to speak to our guests, and to the Strategic Advisor to Edmonton Mayor Don Iveson, Bin Lau, for attending. Without our wonderful volunteers, we couldn’t have made this happen. All of you are appreciated so much”.
