This is how NBCC Edmonton concluded their Black History Month 2023 celebrations…..
They were as young and enduring as Amelie Adolphe, as inspiring as Akeema Smith, as futuristic as Andrea Cox, as thoughtful as Dr. Temitope Oriola, as entertaining as Cherelle George, and as empowering as the Black Canadian Women in Action (BCW).
From different cities, walk of life, age, and resilient levels, they all took to the stage as part of Black History Month celebration of Black Excellence in Alberta.
The National Black Coalition (NBCC) Edmonton Chapter concluded their Black History Month 2033 celebrations with an Awards of Excellence celebration on March 25, 2023, at the Chateau Louis Hotel in Edmonton.
Several Community Leaders, youths, organizations, business leaders, and artists were presented with awards for their work in the community.
To complete the only power couple who took the stage, was an inspiring keynote by Dr. Jennifer Njenga, whose husband, Dr. Michael Njenga, was on stage minutes before to receive the Rosalind Smith Professional Award.
The event was also spiced with good food, great speeches, and quality networking.
A very Black History Month 2023 from the NBCC!
