On Saturday, May 25, the Yoruba Foundation Calgary ignited the Nigerian spirit with their Ankara Night at the Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary. Themed “Melting Pot – Diversity in Culture,” the event was a vibrant celebration of heritage and unity.
The venue buzzed with the scents and flavors of traditional cuisine as eight states competed in a culinary showcase. From Lagos to Osun, each state presented its unique dishes, creating a colorful tapestry of tastes and traditions.
Amidst the culinary competition, the evening also honored the community’s dedicated volunteers and former presidents. Their unwavering commitment was recognized with awards, celebrating their contributions to the rich cultural tapestry of the Yoruba community in Calgary.

Le samedi 25 mai, la Yoruba Foundation Calgary a ravivé l’esprit nigérian avec leur soirée Ankara au Nigerian Canadian Association of Calgary. Ayant pour thème “Melting Pot – Diversité dans la Culture”, l’événement était une célébration vibrante du patrimoine et de l’unité.
