Taste of Africa took place on June 9, 2018, at the Christian Reformed Churches (Ottewell). The celebration of things Africa; food, music, art, religion, and most importantly history of on our ancestry. It was the coming together of people from the different regions in Africa predominantly from Kenya and its neighbours, as well as, people not of African descent.
The event took place at the Mosaic House Church, beginning with classes for the youth – teaching on the meaning of friendship and love The children took classes on God’s teaching, while Adults took classes on bettering one’s self.
The classes were followed by a church service with music from the choir – singing songs from back home in their native language, and also African drums played in thanksgiving.
The event was the coming of people to showcase the beauty and rich cultures of Africa, through dance. The youth of the congregation performed a kingdom interpretive dance routine, ate and made merry.
