Soroptimist International Club of Edmonton is in its 88 year in Edmontons hosting its 29th Annual International Women’s Day Celebration on March 10, 2024, 11:30 to 3 PM, at the Chateau Louis Conference Centre on 11727 Kingsway NW, Edmonton.
Announcing Special Awards totaling $23,000.00 to 8 Live Your Dream Award Winners plus a special Joy Award of $5000 for her favourite charity!
The Soroptimist Dream programs work is to ensure women and girls have access to the education and training they need to reach their full potential and to live their dreams.
The Live Your Dream Awards are given to female parents who are single heads of their households and attending post-secondary school or trade school while (also) supporting a family alone.
The annual Joy Award is awarded to a woman who is doing outstanding work to lead the Edmonton Community in the reduction of harm from Trafficking and Prostitution especially through support for women both citizens and newcomers to Canada to overcome personal and systemic barriers that keep them from participating fully in Edmonton.

Annonce de prix spéciaux totalisant 23 000,00 $ pour 8 gagnantes du prix Live Your Dream, ainsi qu’un prix Joy spécial de 5 000 $ pour sa œuvre caritative préférée !
Le programme Soroptimist Dream vise à garantir aux femmes et aux filles l’accès à l’éducation et à la formation dont elles ont besoin pour atteindre leur plein potentiel et réaliser leurs rêves.
Les prix Live Your Dream sont décernés aux mères célibataires qui sont chefs de famille monoparentale et qui fréquentent des établissements d’enseignement postsecondaire ou des écoles de métiers tout en soutenant seules leur famille.
Le prix annuel Joy est décerné à une femme qui accomplit un travail exceptionnel pour guider la communauté d’Edmonton dans la réduction des préjudices liés à la traite et à la prostitution, notamment en soutenant les femmes, citoyennes et nouvelles arrivantes au Canada, pour surmonter les obstacles personnels et systémiques qui les empêchent de participer pleinement à Edmonton.
