The Works Art and Design Festival takes place from June 21 – July 3, 2018, at the Alberta Legislature grounds. It runs through Canada Day on July 1, 2018, with different intriguing arts and design exhibits, a great collection of food trucks and food tents, cultural arts and crafts, and a vibrant Beer Garden overlooking the beautiful Alberta Legislative Building with all its fountain glamour in full capacity.
The most conspicuous exhibit at The Works Festival this year is the giant wooden structure with plants hanging from one side, almost like a re-creation of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon, even though I don’t know how the Hanging Gardens looked like but for sure know it’s one of the Wonders of the Ancient World. This exhibit connects Botany and arts as it uses locally grown plants in the Edmonton River Valley to create art.

Emmanuel Osahor’s exhibit above, “In Search of Eden”: Exhibit features a 24-foot high installation that showcases a selection of photographs from this River Valley project as well as a living wall with plants that will reflect those that grow in the River Valley ~ The Works Art & Design Festival Facebook Page.
