Diversity Business…
They took Alberta Culture Days to a whole new level…
In a month where Alberta celebrates its rich multicultural heritage, one organization has taken it to a different level by celebrating new multicultural businesses, creatively solving different problems through unique products and services.
“…we started this business because we wanted to come into an era where people are not using chemicals…,” Ashe, founder of House of Ashe.
House of Ashe and 29 other multicultural businesses exemplify the innovation and creativity in the YEG International World Tour Market on September 19, 2020, at the parking lot of Action for Healthy Communities in Edmonton.
Wenze Market and Grill just opened a new generation mini-complex, first of its kind in the Black community in Alberta, in the south of Edmonton, with African grocery, beauty salon, and restaurant all in one place.
Oonsie Boutique sells women clothing and accessories for women of all sizes.
They couldn’t find clothes for their dog, so they started making it themselves and have now grown into Pawies Boutique that makes and sells dog clothes.
House of Ashe makes organic, chemical-free skin care, while Crown YEG sells custom masks and t-shirts.
“…to provide an opportunity for new entrepreneurs to showcase their products and services to the larger community in Edmonton…,” Aftab Khan, Executive Director of Action for Healthy Communities shares the objective of the market with Diversity Magazine, which doubles as the launch of their cultural tourism program across Alberta.
“…it puts a smile on my face for every booth that I walk up to…I encourage people to support local businesses…,” MP for Edmonton Centre, James Cumming didn’t hold back his feelings when he took to the stage.
When we thought we were done with our story, the lady behind the mask – award winning, self-taught Fashion Designer, Alèthe Kaboré spices it up with a fashion display of her mask matching fitting dress, yelling her bold, vibrant, and elegant KYN Apparel fashion brand.
