While people in Edmonton and Calgary are busy digging out snow and ice in the middle of a friendly winter, the wonderful people of the southern Albertan city of Lethbridge seems to be preparing for an early spring in the heart of winter.

On Sunday, January 31st, Lethbridge has little to no snow with some inhabitants bird watching on the banks of the beautiful partially frozen Henderson Lake, overlooking the magnificent Nikka Yuko Japanese Garden.

Alberta’s fourth largest population centre with over 100,000 people is influenced climatically by the nearby Canadian Rocky Mountains that graces the city to warm summers, mild winters, and a windy climate.

A warm welcome to Lethbridge is ushered at the entrance of the city by an eye-catching undulating landscape, crisscrossed by the snaky Oldman River under the over a century old high-level railway bridge.
