Trade, intertwine with politics, exhibited through arts, and media has been the conerstone of success in human civilization for millennia. Everyone has something to sell in order to earn an income to sustain their life. It may be selling a service or your labour to your employer (call it work), or selling products or services to your clients or customers (call it business).

Everyone is better and after a period of practice and endurance, best at something than most people. The biggest challenge is to identify that something that people are willing to buy, and that you can do better than most people, and take it to market. Well, I should not be narrow minded to share that some businesses do not only earn money by selling to consumers, corporations such as Facebook, earns money, as a matter of fact, billions of Dollars, by selling advertising to advertisers and consumers use their services for free.

Motivating and inspiring others to get out there and sell whatever they want to sell is a good idea. It’s even great to motivate a group such as women, who are disproportionately represented in the world of business. This is what the organizers of Black-tie Gala Event, Daisy R Dube, and her team hoped to achieve on the evening of May 26, 2018, at Southwood Community League Hall in Edmonton.

The Black-tie Gala is an annual event hosted by Multi Entrepreneurs Small Businesses Network. The evening’s theme was to be BOLD with the objective to inspire, motivate, and educate women while providing a platform for them to showcase their products, services, and most importantly to network.

The evening was filled with inspirational keynote speakers and live entertainment served over a phenomenal dinner opened to business owners, professionals, and individuals who are looking for ideas to start a small business.
