Where Employers Get Financial Support to Hire Youths – Get to Know The JET Program.
The 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐅𝐨𝐫𝐮𝐦/𝐉𝐄𝐓 𝐃𝐚𝐲 was a networking event that took place at La Cité francophone on the evening of August 24th 2022. It brought together Edmonton youth, JET alumni, employers and community partners.
About fifty people attended the event, mainly youth who had the chance to participate in the various social games, listen to testimonials from JET alumni and network with employers.
The guests included Sarah Nyakeru, the Executive Director of the Institut Guy Lacombe de la famille with her team as keynote speaker.
The 𝐉𝐄𝐓 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 (Youth-Education-Work) offers a personalized job search assistance to French-speaking youth aged 15 to 30 in order to help them acquire the knowledge and employability skills needed to enter the Alberta labour market.
During their participation in the JET program, French-speaking youth receive financial support throughout their job search to help them eliminate all barriers to employment.
In addition, various benefits, including a wage subsidy, are offered to employers to increase participants’ chances of getting hired.
French-speaking youth living in Edmonton, Calgary, Bonnyville and Fort McMurray can benefit from all employment services offered by the JET program.
