On the 24 of November 2018, at the Intercultural Centre in Edmonton, the new President, Siba Kumalo, and a new Board of the Zimbabwe Cultural Society of Alberta (ZCUSA) were elected to a two year term.

In a fun day Christmas event, on December 8, the new team leading the Zimbabwe community in Edmonton had their first event, a Christmas party at the Intercultural Centre.

In an interview at Diversity Centre with Diversity Magazine, Siba said that her team will focus on unity and finding common interest within the community. They will do that through a survey to find out what community members want from the organization, and from the findings, develop programs that benefit the community.

“…we will have a Youth Director that will go find out what the youth want…A Woman Director to find out what the women want…Go and find out what the men want and bring people together…Professional Director to go out through networking, and market our professionals. An Elder Advisory Committee too…,” Siba Humalo shared her vision for the active Edmonton Zimbabwe community with Diversity Magazine as the new President of ZCUSA.
