Once again, another very important milestone in our community…
Our favourite snack, Chin Chin, goes mainstream for everyone to enjoy Africa’s finest, delicious, sweet, crunchy, and this time around, flavoured snack.
Today, our Diversity Magazine team was there at the entrance of Aisle 7, Snack Aisle, to capture the setting up of the Chin Chin stand at the entrance of Aisle 7, Snack Aisle of Safeway in the Northgate Centre of Edmonton.
You can now pick up a bag of Chin Chin at Safeway in Edmonton Northgate Centre, 9499 137 Ave NW #200, Edmonton, AB T5E 5R8.
The official launch of this special Chin Chin in Edmonton is scheduled for Tuesday, October 3, at the North Gate Safeway, an opportunity to try all the flavours, meet the lady behind this innovation, and network with other creative minds that will be present.
Calgarians too can also enjoy this special flavoured Chin Chin as the launch is coming up tomorrow, September 9, 11AM, at the Safeway Westhills Towne Centre, with similar flavours as in Edmonton.
The talented lady behind this re-inventing of our snack of choice, the Chin Chin, with multiple flavours, is Eugenia Ogundare, a lady with a relentless passion for baking since she was a girl back in Nigeria.
With three kids keeping her busy, she still managed to start her business, The Cake Aisle Inc., in August 2016. However, something memorable happened in September 2016, when she invited friends over to try her tasty cakes but all gravitated towards the Chin Chin instead.
This event inspired her seven flavoured Chin Chin line of: coconut, strawberry, cafe moca, lemon, spicy ginger, and caramel
Just the coconut, cafe moca, lemon, and ginger flavours are in Safeway stores in Edmonton and Calgary.
As a Chin Chin fan, I must confess that it’s the best Chin Chin I’ve ever eaten because it has the right balance of hardness, sweetness, the right proportion of flavour, and a beautiful package, such that you can’t miss it whenever you stop by the Snack Aisle of Safeway….
