Francophonie Albertaine Plurielle known as FRAP had their first Annual General Meeting (AGM) after they came out victorious in the Immigration Canada bid to provide settlement and integration services to new francophones to Alberta.

The AGM that took place on June 29, 2019, at the St. Jean Campus of the University of Alberta. It saw the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to Claudine Kabanda for her work in launching the settlement agency arm of FRAP as the Acting Executive Director before Marie-Laure Polydore was appointed month.

Re-elected President, Alphonse Ahola had this to say to Diversity Magazine, “…It (the AGM) went very well. I was re-elected as president”. Dr. Ahola added that their major accomplishments for the year was the funding from Immigration Canada to start a settlement agency. He also went on to say that the organization has also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the francophone umbrella organization called ACFA to have the inclusion mandate for francophones in Alberta.

The AGM saw the presentation of a plaque of appreciation to Claudine Kabanda (centre) for her work in launching the settlement agency.
