Ryan made this anxious comment before the show, “… we don’t want to turn this into a thing where this show is forced off the air…it drives me a little bit nuts when…there is an attempt to intimidate a broadcast like this…”
Edmonton Catholic School Board threatened Bashir Mohamed, Ryan Jespersen, the Ryan Jespersen Show with a defamation lawsuit on November 28 if they talk about Emmell and Una minutes before Ryan interviewed Bashir on the Ryan Jaspersen Show. Ryan, however, went ahead with the interview.
A couple of weeks ago, we had the opportunity to share with you this story of a single mother, Una, protesting her ban, demanding an apology, and wants her 11-years old son back in class in an Edmonton school called Christ the King Elementary and Junior High. Her son Emmell was not let into class for wearing a durag as the school considered a durag to signify gang affiliation.
Good news, the Edmonton Catholic School Board found Emmell another school with no dress code, and he has since resumed school. Mum and son are happy so far, but the story is far from over. Una wants her ban lifted and an apology, as the rallies continue at the Catholic School Building to keep the pressure. They met with Alberta Education Minister, Adriana LaGrange.
The pressure on the Catholic School Board will continue on December 17 at the Trustee Meeting. Here is the event page https://www.facebook.com/events/852810488469082/
