With a voice as sweet as honey, personality so charming, super talented, young, pretty, and down to earth are the best adjectives that my word mill can spin out to describe the next big thing waiting to happen in music.
Super talented Edmontonian KAPRI nominated for JUNO Awards, Canada’s top music award, for “Dance Recording of the Year”. KAPRI’s hit single “Deeper” has gained nationwide and international popularity in less than six months.
The “new Rihanna” who writes her own song, designs the choreography, directs it, in fact did every thing in her 6-months old single which is so addictive to watch and so inviting to dance.
Fueled by her love of 90s clubland and her rich Caribbean roots, Canadian singer-song writer KAPRI is a cross-cultural emerging Edmonton-born and Trinbagonian-rooted artist who has since relocated to Toronto two years ago. She claimed the title of Universal Music Group’s newest artist, and released her chart-topping debut single and music video, Deeper.
On a stop at Diversity Centre on March 17, 2018, she shared, “…I want to make a space in the music industry for a young female who has a story to tell…”.
She attended Victoria High School for Performance and Virtual Arts in Edmonton, studied in Ottawa before moving to Toronto two years ago. KAPRI is big on quality, “…I really focus on the quality of my content…,” she told Diversity Magazine.
KAPRI’s inaugural single, amassed over 112k streams through Spotify alone, and succeeded top artists such as Justin Bieber, Migos, Gucci Mane, and Chris Brown for the #1 spot on the music platform’s Canada Viral 50 in its first week.
