The 2nd annual Realize Your Potential (RYP) Youth Society Honours Gala took place at the Calgary Airport Marriott Hotel on June 24.
It was a classic full house event, with elegant fashion, and great looking guests that graced the evening celebrating Black Joy and Excellence in line with the mission of RYP; to create a safe, supportive, and empowering space for descendants of the African diaspora to build relationships, overcome obstacles, and gain opportunities to support the next generation of Black excellence.
Seven awards in total was handed out; two went to teachers and five to students:
The Inclusive Education Award went to Chantelle Clairmont.
The Educator Award was given to Karen Wallace.
Hebah Adeladan and Raekwon Williams were honoured with the Outstanding Ambassadors of the Year awards.
The ATB Youth Education Award was taken home by Javontae Blake.
The Canada Mobile X-ray Inc Youth Education Awards went to Ife Tododo and Halimat Ibrahim.
